Name: Josephine "Josie" Alsteen Date: November 1st, 1921 - June 8th, 2009 Obituary: Josephine “Josie” Alice Alsteen, age 87, of Laona, passed away Monday, June 8, 2009 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Rhinelander. She was born November 1, 1921 in Duluth, MN to the late Felix and Sophie (Lapinski) Paszak. Josie was a resident at the NuRoc Nursing Home for several years and called it her home; she really loved the staff. She enjoyed playing bingo and other activities. Josie enjoyed her garden, listening to polka music, going for rides looking for wildlife and coming home on the weekends. She will be sadly missed. She is survived by: Daughters: Joanne Alsteen, Laona Darlene Alsteen (Rusty Bytell), Laona Jackie (Yon) Jacoboski, Stevens Point Sons: Larry (Connie) Alsteen, Crandon Dewaine (Judy) Alsteen, Fond du Lac Joe Alsteen, Rhinelander 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren Sisters: Helen Summers, Rhinelander Pat (Robert) Summers, Rhinelander Brother: Clarence “Sonny” Paszak, Rhinelander Preceded in death by her parents; Felix and Sophie, husband; Frank, daughter; Yvonne, grandson; Thomas, great-granddaughter; Kayla and a brother; Ray. Visitation will be on Friday, June 12, 2009 from 9-11:00 a.m. at St. Leonard Catholic Church, Laona. Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Father John Cerkas officiating.
