Name: Raymond Miller Date: April 27th, 1939 - December 28th, 2009 Obituary: Raymond John Miller, Sr., age 70, of Crandon died peacefully at his home on Monday, December 28, 2009. Ray was born in Genoa City, WI on April 27, 1939 to Laonice “Buss” and Karen (Amborn) Miller. Ray moved to Crandon in 1952. On July 17, 1954 he married Susan C. O’Donnell at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church. He was employed at the Forest County Potawatomi Community for the last 8 years. Most of his working life was spent in the woods cutting & skidding for various logging operations. Before that he worked at American Motors for almost 10 years. He enjoyed watching the Packers, Brewers and Nascar. Loved racing with “GB” Bradley in Brush Run 101 and Bark River. He was known as the “8” ball pool shark. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Susan Children: Raymond J. (Kathy) Miller, Jr., Carla (Brian) Connor Cathi (Kent) Signorella Carin (Troy) Monnot Christine Miller (special friend, David Krabbe) Claire “Boo” (Rick) Krawze Grandchildren: Luc (Courtney) Connor, Adam (Adrienne) Connor, Brea (Chad) Albrecht, Conrad Connor, Cara Gerald (special friend, Walter Panick, III), Glenn Evans, Catelyn Miller, Melonie (Mark) Pitts, Kevin DeMars (special friend, Nicki Mills), Heather DeMars (special friend, Matt Chayer), Tonya DeMars, Catherine, Erica, Elizabeth & Grace Krawze and several step-granchildren. Great Grandchildren: LJ, Gavin, & Reese Connor; Hailey Connor; Stella Albrecht; Walter & Andrew Panick; Megan, Richard & Kolton Pitts; Riley Johnson; & Kevin DeMars, III and several great step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by both his parents; granddaughter, Amanda DeMars and grandson, Clayton Evans. Visitation was held on Thursday, December 31 from 9-11 a.m. at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, Crandon. Funeral service followed at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Mary Coolidge officiating. Inurnment will be at Crandon Lakeside Cemetery.
